Nicholas Kristof Lecture Canceled

NYT's columnist and Pulitzer Prize winner was scheduled to give a lecture at Kennesaw State University at 6:30 today, but will not be able to come due to his plane not being able to leave Egypt.

Kristof is reporting on the events going on in Egypt, and I respect him imensely for traveling to a country where most Americans are trying to leave right now.

The caliber of reporting will be interesting to see, considering the disconnect and turmoil, but all the luck goes out to Kristof and your absence is definitely upsetting.

You can read his reports here.

Good luck Nick.

Well, now - c'mon back ya hear? Yeah, Kennesaw isn't exactly the boondocks of Georgia, but it ain't the city streets neither. But, considering there are several ways to bypass the law and that I doubt its actually mandated by the patroling police officers - this law is dead. Just a rights of passage, for any and all who live here to say, "Beware - ITS THE LAW!"

So, to you concerned citizens, I would have to say, don't fret. The likeliness that your neighbor has a rifle pointed at the passerbys equals any other Atlanta outskirt town.

Here's a quick essay on the Gun owning part that I put together last year. You can read it at Goodreads (a rather simple and interactive site that makes book reading something you can share just like your drunken mishaps on your favorite social media vice)

Whats new in Kennesaw?

Is there a need for such an a-typical blog? The world has thousands already - who knows?
